Liberal Democrats call for a comprehensive economic recovery plan for Norfolk

July 16, 2020 12:25 PM

Norfolk Liberal Democrats are calling for Norfolk to have a comprehensive economic recovery plan.

Brian Watkins Group spokesperson said, "Without a proper economic recovery plan we will push tens of thousands of people in Norfolk into poverty when the Government money runs out."

"The Plan should answer the issues that matter most: what will happen next, who will take the lead, and how Norfolk's economy will recover as quickly as possible."

"A new approach is urgently needed. Norfolk is already one of the worst performing areas in the country for businesses to get started up, as well as having poor wage levels. "

"Norfolk is full of untapped potential and it is the County Council's job to lead with real consultation with local businesses on a bold 21st century economic strategy that brings prosperity to all."

"Norfolk needs to see much more urgency and leadership from the Council's political administration, or Norfolk will continue to be left behind the rest of the East of England."
